Tips to Get Stronger Long Nails

Nails are not as demanding as the rest of our body parts. And I guess it is a reason people do not care for them like their skin, hair etc.
The results of such negligence are brittle and unhealthy nails. Nails that break easily are complicated to deal with. Peeling nails or cuticles can ruin ones well groomed image.

Tips to take care of nails:

•First and foremost thing to remember is NEVER bite your nails.
•Avoid the frequent use of acetone based nail polish remover. Acetone quickly removes moisture from the nails and makes them dry.
•Keep your nails short and well trimmed. Long nails are more fragile and break more easily than short ones.
•Apply vegetable oil on the finger tips and massage your nails with it. This would help to strengthen them.
•Add three tbs baking soda in 1/2 cup warm water. Soak your nails in this solution for about 15 minutes. Now, softly brush across each nail with a nailbrush to whiten your fingernails & toenails.
Soften cuticles by filling a bowl with white vinegar and soaking your fingers in it for five minutes. Also, nail polish will adhere longer to nails that have been soaked in vinegar.
•Choose a cuticle cream or oil that contains natural oils such as safflower, almond oil, sweet almond or passion flower. They will heal your cuticles much faster.
•Apply olive oil on your nails. Leave on for about 15 to 20 minutes. It is an effective way to get stronger nails naturally.
•Increase the intake of fruits and vegetables to heal the nails from the inside and keep them healthy. Also, include the sufficient amount of vitamin A, iron and calcium in your diet.
•Drink lots of water daily. Drink carrot juice as it is very rich in calcium and phosphorus and is beneficial in strengthening the nails.
You can use nail strengtheners to protect your nails from breaking.
•Also, get your nails manicured regularly, preferably once a month, to keep your nails in good condition.
•Always wear gloves to protect your hands while washing the dishes or doing any task that requires dipping the hands in water. Wearing vinyl gloves, not latex or rubber, keeps your hands safe from coarse materials.
•Brittle nails break more easily so, to avoid such nails keep them well moisturized. The easiest way to keep nails moisturized is to use petroleum jelly, several times a day.
•Vitamin E capsule can also be used as a moisturizer on brittle nails.
