Homemade Oatmeal Face Packs

Oatmeal beauty treatments are good for all skin types, more so for oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin types because it calms and soothes inflammatory reactions, reduces redness, and makes skin even toned.  It cleanses, moisturizes, and exfoliates skin.  Oatmeal is an excellent exfoliator and cleanser, it can absorb excess oil.  It is also known to lighten skin tone and improve complexion.  If you think soaps and face washes are harsh for your skin, switch to oatmeal to clean your face.  It cleanses skin without ripping the moisture off the skin.  Oatmeal face packs are a great way to reap benefits of oatmeal.  Let’s check out some of them.

1.  Honey Milk and Oatmeal Face Pack:

Ingredients Needed:
  • Oats.
  • Honey.
  • Milk.
  • Curd.
Method:
This pack is good for all skin types.  Those with dry skin, can add milk.  If you have oily skin, you can skip milk.  Add 4 tablespoons each of fresh curd and milk in 2 tablespoons of grounded oats, add in 2 tablespoons of honey.  Apply this pack on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.  Honey and milk act as moisturisers. Curd removes all the tanning and act as a natural bleaching agent. Oats calm down the skin and smoothens the skin texture.  Skin feels soft, tighter and pores look smaller after I use this pack.

Ingredients Needed:
  • 2 table spoons of oats.
  • 4 table spoons of normal milk (should not be boiled).
  • 4 table spoons of lime juice.
Method:
Take 2 table spoon of oats and boil it in water. Let it cool. Then mix 2 table spoon of milks and 4 table spoons of lime juice. Mix it well. Apply this pack on your face-hands-neck or you can use it all over your body. leave it for 20-25 minutes.Then wash it off with lukewarm water.
Ingredients Needed:
  • Oats – 2 tablespoons.
  • Almonds – 5
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon
  • Milk or yogurt – as required to dilute the face pack.
Method:
Blend the almonds to a powder form.  You should get an almond meal which looks like the consistency of wet sand. Add the oats to the almond meal and pulse it again. You should get a nice powder consistency.  Add yogurt, honey and apply to your face.  Leave the pack for about 15 minutes or until the pack feels dry completely.  Use circular motions to remove the pack.  This will exfoliate and massage skin really well and make it soft.

Ingredients Needed:
  • ½ Papaya fruit – depends on your requirement.
  • 2 tablespoons of oats.
  • 1 tablespoon almond oil.
Method:
Mash the papaya to a pulp.  Grind oats in a mixer if you want a milder one.  Mix the oats and papaya pulp together. Add a spoon of almond oil. You may replace almond oil with your favourite essential oil.  Take a little amount and gently scrub all over your face/body. If you feel that the texture is a little tight, add a few drops of water and continue massaging.  Scrub for 2 minutes and wipe it off with lukewarm water.  You would feel your skin becoming soft.

Ingredients Needed:
  • 2 tablespoons of oats, grind in a mixer into a fine powder.
  • Half tomato.
  • Half a tablespoon of chilled rose water.
Method:
Make a puree out of the tomato.  Add puree to oats.  Add rose water and mix well, make a paste.  Apply this paste all over your face and neck.  This pack contains goodness of oats and tomatoes. Tomatoes lightens tan, removes dirt from pores, and oat is a great exfoliator.
