1. Fruit Mask – All Skin Types
Cut out some of the outer rough peel from a pineapple along with a little flesh. Add 2 tbsp oatmeal or besan and 1 tbsp olive oil. Blend in the mixer gringer to make a paste. Gently massage over face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and follow with moisturizer. While pineapple is a favourite of ours, you can replace with apple, pear, peach, etc. This is a great deep cleansing and exfoliating mask. If you have a very bad case of painful acne, skip this mask and the pineapple may sting.
2. Rose Petal Mask
This is a great balancing mask for those with dry skin and an oily t-zone. Mix 1 tbsp yoghurt with 1 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp rose water. Add to it a bunch of fresh rose petals and grind to a smooth paste in the mixer. Apply and leave on for 20 minutes before washing off.
3. Clay Mask For Pimples
Mix 3 tbsp fuller’s earth (multani mitti) with 2 tbsp rose water and 1 tbsp aloe vera gel and add a dash of lime juice to get a medium consistency paste. Apply a layer on your face and allow it to dry fully before washing off. Apply moisturizer.
4. Yoghurt-Oatmeal Mask
Mix 1 tbsp finely ground oatmeal with 1 tbsp of yoghurt and 1 tsp honey to make a smooth well-blended paste. Oily skin types can add mashed cucumber pulp and a pinch of turmeric to it. Pat onto the face and leave on for 15 minutes before washing off. This mask is safe for sensitive or sunburned skin.
5. Italian Salad Mask
Mash one ripe tomato to pulp and add ½ tbsp olive oil. Apply on face and rinse off after 10 minutes. Don’t extend the time beyond this or it may sting. Tomato has natural acids to lighten as well as nourish skin with vitamin C. Olive Oil moisturizes the face.
6. Eggs and Yoghurt Mask
Mix 2 separated egg whites with 2 tbsp youghurt and apply on the face. Wash off after 15 minutes to notice how smooth and conditioned your skin feels.
