5 Instant Skin Whitening Tips

Skin whitening needn’t be time consuming; some remedies can whiten skin in a jiffy.

Pale, white, fair - these are just some of the words that are used to describe glowing, even toned and gorgeous skin. While instant skin whitening is certainly possible, there are several different ways to achieve that glow. We present to you, 5 different skin whitening tips, which will light up your skin like never before.

1. Lemon juice:

Lemon juice is a boon that just keeps giving - aside from having amazing effects on your digestion, energy and teeth, lemon juice has also been used for many years for skin whitening. It contains properties that mildly bleach your skin and exfoliate its top layer. Pure lemon juice can be very strong for the skin, so add one part water to one part lemon juice and dab it all over your face with a cotton pad. Wash it with warm water 15 minutes later. A few important things to remember - only apply this mixture 2-3 times a week, always moisturise afterwards and wash it off thoroughly before going out in the sun.

2. Tomato:

Perfect for removing signs of a tan or sunburn, a tomato pack will lighten your skin tone and clean the dead cells off your face. To make this pack, all you need are 1-2 tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and gram flour (this is optional). Add them all to a blender, to make a paste. Apply the pack daily before you take a shower.

3. Milk and Lemon:

Milk, enriched with enzymes as it is, is a gentle whitener. It also contains moisturising properties by balancing out the more astringent qualities of lemon juice that tend to dry out your skin. To being with, draw a bath of warm water in a tub. Add a cupful of milk
(not fat free milk) and squeeze in the juice of one lemon into the water. Soak in this gentle mix for 20 minutes, before rinsing it off. You can try this remedy once a week.

4. Exfoliation:

If you're wondering how to get white skin, aside from these remedies, you can also try different exfoliating methods. Exfoliation helps remove the dead cells from your skin, removing that dull, tired look and replacing it with refreshed and glowing skin. For your body, you can use a natural exfoliating mix of a sugar and salt scrub. For the more delicate skin on your face, use crushed almonds or oatmeal. Move the exfoliator in gentle circular motions over wet skin. Do this twice a week for that polished look.

5. Moisturiser:

Keep your skin moisturised, as it prevents the buildup and sloughing off of dead cells. Use a brightening moisturiser, like the range from Olay skincare, to take care of your daily brightening and moisturising needs. If you feel the need to go all natural, rub some coconut oil on your body after getting out of the shower. (Make sure it's a light amount.) In 10 minutes your skin will absorb the oil and stay nourished and supple throughout the day.
