Cucumber With Lemon, Aloe Vera and Rosewater Mist

This mist hydrates and revitalizes the skin to make it smooth, soft and radiant.

Aloe vera is an effective natural remedy for dry skin. It has always been considered as one of the best ingredients for a soothing home made face mist. The cucumber and aloe vera have soothing properties. Moreover, aloe vera boosts blood circulation, soothes the skin and improves its elasticity.

The lemon acts as a natural exfoliator. Lemon’s natural exfoliating property works to clear extra oil and revitalize the skin to make it look soft, fresh and smooth.

Rose water contains astringent property, which helps to get rid of extra oil and balances the skin’s pH levels.

You will need:

(i) Cucumber: 1, fresh

(ii) Lemon: 1/2

(iii) Aloe vera gel: 1 teaspoon

(iv) Rose water: 1 tablespoon

Method:

(i) Peel and slice a cucumber and put it in a blender. Blend it for a couple of minutes and pour its pulp into cheesecloth or a strainer. Squeeze the pulp to extract its juice into a glass bowl.

(ii) Mix in well fresh lemon juice from 1/2 lemon, 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of rosewater.

(iii) Stir well all the ingredients and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. If you feel that the mixture is thick or sticky, you can add a little more rosewater. Store it in refrigerator for up to a week.

(iv) Spray this homemade mist on your face. You will instantly get a cool soothing and refreshing feel.

(v) You can use this mist up to 3 times a day on regular basis.

Natural Beauty Tips:

(i) Don’t throw the cucumber pulp. You can apply it as a facemask onto your face.

(ii) A more simple and easy recipe is to mix freshly extracted cucumber juice and rose water in equal parts and store it in a spray bottle. Use it regularly for 2 – 3 times on your face every day.

Moisturizing Face And Body Mist With Glycerin And Essential Oil

This one is great for replenishing dry skin such as in an overheated office environment. You can also use this mist to spray on your entire body after sunbathing or skiing. Choose chamomile, rose, orange, clary sage, grapefruit or whichever essential oil you feel smells good. Stay away from the one that burn like the nine hells if it gets in your eyes or on razor-burned skin such as black pepper or cinnamon.

(i) Distilled water: 1 cup

(ii) Glycerin: 2 tablespoons, vegetable grade

(iii) A few drops of your favorite essential oil

(i) Mint leaves

(ii) Rose flower, 2 medium sized rose flower petals

(i) Take a fresh aloe vera leaf and extract the gel pulp with the help of a spoon or fork. Pour the aloe vera gel in to a spray bottle.

(ii) Take half lemon and extract its juice. Add about 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice to the aloe vera gel. If you have very sensitive skin, then you should add just half a tablespoon of lemon juice to the mixture.

(iii) Take hot water in a bowl and throw some rose petals in it.

(iv) Now, invade your fridge and take out a small bunch of mint leaves. Throw the leaves into the hot water, and mix them with a spoon. Let the leaves and petals brew for about 15 to 20 minutes.

(v) Let the mint leaf and rose petal solution come down to room temperature and then strain it into a spray bottle. Shake the bottle well to mix all the ingredients thoroughly. And your natural facial mist is ready for use!

(vi) You can keep the bottle in refrigerator and use the mist for up to a week.

(vii) To use, close your eyes and spray the mist. Your skin will be refreshed to face the heat of the summer days!
